Biography

A Colorado native, Melissa received a BA in technical theater from the University of Northern Colorado.  She went on to earn an MFA in stage management from the Yale School of Drama. 

Melissa has worked professionally across the country and has had the opportunity of working in all areas of theater including drama, musicals, and opera. She has worked as a stage manager at The Studio Theatre, Maryland Opera Studio, Lafayette Opera at The Kennedy Center, The Yale Repertory Theatre, Boston Lyric Opera, Goodspeed Musicals, The Cleveland Play House and Shakespeare & Company. She has had the privilege of participating in the creation of several new works including the World Premieres of Lungs and The History of Kisses at The Studio Theatre, The Clean House at The Yale Rep, a production of Cuttin’ Up at The Cleveland Play House and Meet John Doe with Goodspeed Musicals. Melissa has also served as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Stage/Production Management for Oklahoma City University’s School of Theater. 

She enjoys working with young theater artists and assisting them with their development and transition into members of the professional theater community. Melissa is a proud member of USITT as well as the Theatrical Unions - Actors’ Equity Association and the American Guild of Musical Artists.
