Iowa New Play Festival 2019
This annual, week-long festival is centered on producing, reading, and analyzing new scripts from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop. Through staged readings, workshops, and productions, the Festival showcases the process of new play development. Guest artists play an important role in the process and are invited to attend the Festival in order to give dramaturgical feedback to both the playwrights and their collaborators, and to provide advice on the future artistic and professional life of the play. Works to be produced during Iowa New Play Festival will be announced in the spring.
Tickets are free for University of Iowa students (with a valid ID) and $5 for general admission. Additional ticketing information will be available in the spring.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Department of Theatre Arts in advance at 319.335.2700.
